DIVERSITY IMPACT WEEKEND 2014!
Join Us for an Impactful, Sight-Seeing, Cultural Excursion! You're Invited to...
Learn more on diversity, while taking in the historic sights of nature's mountains and quiet rivers. Located on the beautiful campus of Frontier Nursing University, Diversity Impact Weekend provides students and alumni an opportunity to come back to campus for fellowship, networking and to participate in leadership discussions related to increasing diversity in nursing and midwifery.
During this weekend workshop, students will:
- attend sessions hosted by nationally recognized nursing leaders
- participate in teambuilding activities, cultural competency awareness training, and open dialogues
- network with available FNU student services, and
- dine at the exclusive Wendover Inn retreat, with a meal warmly prepare and freshly made.

Dr. Debra J. Barksdale is an Associate Professor and Director of the DNP program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH). She is certified as a family nurse practitioner (NP), an adult NP, and a nurse educator. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Academy of Nursing. In addition, she was also a Department of Health and Human Services Primary Health Care Policy Fellow. Dr. Barksdale is immediate past President of the prestigious National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF). She is also a member of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Executive Nurse Fellows 2011 Cohort.
